How Do I Become a Member?
We want to make it easy for you to unite with the First UMC family.
Membership in The United Methodist Church is a covenant of mutual care — we promise to support the church with our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness, and the church commits to nurture and walk alongside you in your faith.
There are three paths to membership at First UMC:
By profession of faith
If you have not yet publicly professed your faith in Christ, you may do so through our membership vows, which include baptism if you have not already been baptized. Pastor McFadden will walk with you through what this means.
By transfer of membership
If you are already a member of another United Methodist congregation, or another Christian church, your membership can be transferred to First UMC. Just let Pastor McFadden or the church office know, and we'll take care of the rest.
By reaffirmation of faith
If you were previously baptized and have been away from active church membership, you're welcome to reaffirm your faith and unite with First UMC. Speak with Pastor McFadden about what that looks like.
